Aphasia & Stroke Awareness

Join my office and Councilwoman Cindy Bass on Monday, August 3rd from 1:00pm-3:00pm at 1900 W Allegheny Ave for a community education initiative designed to increase awareness of stroke prevention, recovery, and aphasia, a communication disorder that often results from a stroke. The event will feature healthcare professionals, educational presentations, free health screenings, and community organizations offering resources for seniors, caregivers, and families.
The goal of this event is to help address the lack of public awareness surrounding aphasia and stroke by providing accessible education, promoting early recognition of stroke symptoms, connecting community members with local healthcare resources, and empowering individuals to take an active role in their brain health. Through this event, we hope to foster a more informed, healthier community while supporting stroke survivors and their caregivers.
