PHILADELPHIA, PA – July 23, 2025 – On Saturday, July 19, Senator Sharif Street was proud to host the 4th annual Community Baby Shower in collaboration with Grands as Parents Inc, N.O.R.T.H. WIC Program, Temple University Government and Civic Engagement, Temple University Office of Community Affairs and Engagement, Temple Health, UPMC Health Plan, Keyston First, and Uptown Radio WJYN 98.5FM. The community event, focused on addressing issues like maternal mortality and healthcare equity, exemplifies Senator Street’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of residents across Philadelphia and the Commonwealth.

This event marked another success for the North Philadelphia community and all participants, featuring 75 community vendors and more than 600 attendees, including 275 expecting and new moms who pre-registered for the event. New and expectant mothers and family members had the opportunity to receive free bassinets, diapers, as well as speak with experts offering valuable parenting tips.

“This annual event is about expanding access to essential resources for mothers and individuals who are expecting, as they prepare to welcome a new life into their family,” said Senator Street. “We remain committed to engaging with the North Philadelphia community and connecting individuals to resources that support and empower them in this new chapter of their lives.”

This effort reflects Senator Street’s long-standing priorities around public health and community engagement. His office remains committed to working with community partners, local leaders, and state agencies to ensure equity, safety, and opportunity for all Pennsylvanians.
