PHILADELPHIA, PA (December 12, 2025) – Senator Sharif Street is encouraging eligible schools, community organizations, and local governments to apply for several major state funding opportunities now open through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). These grants support school safety, mental health services, violence prevention, and expanded out-of-school-time programming across the Commonwealth.
FY 2025-26 School Safety and Mental Health Grants Now Open
The Commonwealth has made $100 million available in noncompetitive, formula-based funding for school entities to enhance student safety and wellbeing. Eligible applicants include:
- School districts
- Intermediate units
- Area career and technical schools
- Charter, regional charter, and cyber charter schools
Funds may be used for physical security upgrades, behavioral health improvements, or a combination of both based on the needs of each school entity.
Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
FY 2025-26 Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) & Building Opportunities Through Out-of-School Time (BOOST)
A combined $60 million is available for organizations working to reduce violence and expand youth programming. For the first time, applications for VIP and BOOST will be accepted through the same solicitation, streamlining the process for applicants.
Eligible organizations include:
- VIP: Community-based nonprofits, municipalities, counties, district attorneys, and institutions of higher education
- BOOST: School districts, career and technical centers, libraries, and community-based nonprofits
Applicants may submit their materials through the shared portal available here.
Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Monday, January 26, 2026.
BOOST Grants for Statewide Youth-Serving Organizations
Statewide nonprofit youth-serving organizations eligible for BOOST funding will apply through a separate PCCD process, not the VIP/BOOST combined portal.
Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Senator Street urges all eligible partners in education, public safety, and youth development to take advantage of these critical investments.
“These grants represent substantial, targeted support for our schools, our young people, and the community organizations doing the daily work to prevent violence and provide safe, enriching spaces for youth,” said Senator Street. “I strongly encourage every eligible entity to apply so we can continue strengthening safety, stability, and opportunity across Philadelphia and the Commonwealth.”
