KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

The 4th amendment states, “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” This constitutional right is applicable to noncitizens, meaning the protections against unwarranted searches and seizures apply to a larger population than just United States citizens.

“No person is illegal. Whether a person is undocumented, has loved ones who are undocumented, or is actively working to become a citizen of the United States people have rights. I will continue to make sure that people who are doing their best to make an honest living are protected and provided the information they need to succeed.” – Senator Sharif Street

– Senador Sharif Street
